The ISMS Marketing Science Conference is an annual event that brings together leading marketing scholars, practitioners, and policy makers with a shared interest in rigorous scientific research on marketing problems. Topics include but are not restricted to branding, segmentation, consumer choice, competition, strategy, advertising, pricing, product, innovation, distribution, retailing, social media, internet marketing, global marketing, big data, machine learning, choice models, game theory, structural models, randomized control trials.
The conference begins at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, and closes on Saturday evening, June 10, 2017. Multiple concurrent sessions are planned during the conference days. Parallel sessions run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on June 8th to June 10th. All sessions will be held in USC Fertitta Hall. Receptions or dinner will be held in the evening from 5 PM to about 9 PM. Receptions and dinners will be held in neighboring ballrooms and pavilions. Breakfast on June 7th to 10th 2017 runs from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM in USC Suryan Plaza. Conference Hotels include the USC Radisson (across the street), the Omni Los Angeles (3 miles away) and the USC Cardinal Gardens dorms.
The ISMS Doctoral Consortium precedes the conference from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday June 7th, 2017. Details of the Conference are on the conference website. The chair of the Doctoral Consortium is Olivier Toubia, Columbia University.
Submissions
Submissions are welcome in one of two categories (1) Paper Abstracts and (2) Special Sessions Proposals.
Paper Abstract
Abstracts should not exceed 1800 characters (about 250 words), and should clearly state the marketing relevance, keywords, contribution, authors, and presenting author. Keywords must be included to help organizers place the paper in appropriate sessions and tracks. An author may be the primary presenter for only a single paper during the entire conference. However, authors may co-author any number of other papers. The presenting author must register and pay the registration fee by March 15th for the paper to be included in the program. Submissions and registration open on November 29th 2016. Submission deadline is February 1, 2017. Authors will be notified by March 15th, 2017.

Special Session Proposal
Participants are welcome to organize their own special sessions. The proposal would include a session title and abstract plus titles, abstracts, and names of coauthors of 3 to 4 papers in the session. The proposal should also include keywords to help place the session in the conference. The proposal should include the name, organization, and e-mail address of the session chair/organizer. All rules and deadlines for paper abstracts mentioned above, apply for each paper in the special session.
Email the session proposal consisting of the above items to Ellen Tralongo (Ellen.Tralongo@INFORMS.org). Ellen will respond to your e-mail with an invitation that contains instructions to upload session information. Once these proposals have been uploaded, they will be reviewed by the Program Committee.
The ISMS Doctoral Consortium will precede the main conference and run on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Detailed information on the consortium (timing, registration process and lodging information) is available on the conference website. Although formal registration for the consortium will open on December 1, 2016, individuals interested in participating in the doctoral consortium should check the conference website for details.

Submitting Conference Abstracts
We welcome submissions on a broad range of marketing science topics including, but not limited to, marketing strategy, marketing models, methods, theory, as well as empirical research.
Submission deadline: February 1, 2017 (only one submission per presenter will be accepted).
Notification of acceptance: March 1, 2017
The author of an accepted abstract is required to register for the conference no later than March 15, 2017. This policy helps to limit the number of cancelled papers and no-shows.

General Information
- You are permitted only one abstract as the presenting author (speaker). You can be a co-author on other contributed abstracts.
- As the presenting author, you are expected to present the work at the meeting. Your co-authors are also encouraged to attend.
- Abstracts are reviewed and acceptance emails will be sent out on March 1, 2017.
- Please note: all attendees must register and pay the registration fee by March 15, 2017.
To Submit
Before you proceed to the login, have the following information ready:
- Contact information for yourself and any co-authors (full name, affiliation, email address and mailing address)
- The paper title and abstract.
Your submission will not be accepted without the required information.
- Your email address is the key for entry into the system and is used to avoid scheduling conflicts. It’s very important that you use only one email address if you enter multiple submissions. You will receive an email confirming that we received your online submission.
- Use the COMMENTS field for any requests: for example, if you need an acceptance letter for budgetary reasons or to apply for a visa, or if you have scheduling requests.
- After submission, you can return to your abstract to make changes or additions.
Special Session Proposals Submissions
Participants are strongly encouraged to organize their own special sessions. This would enable a set of papers on a related topic to be readily presented in one session. Special session proposals should include:
- Title of session;
- Name, organization and e-mail address of the session chair;
- Statement summarizing the session’s theme;
- Contact information for all the authors.
Each session should have 4 or 5 abstracts that should not exceed 1800 characters (about 250 words) and should clearly define the marketing topic and the contribution of the research. An author may be the primary presenter for only a single paper during the entire conference.
Your proposal, consisting of a Session Title & Chair and a statement summarizing session theme should entered into the system. https://acgi.informs.org/oasis_login.php Once Special sessions have been uploaded and reviewed by the Marketing Science Committee notifications of acceptances will be sent out.
Special session proposal submissions may be made starting Monday, December 1, 2016 until Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Session Chairs will be notified of acceptance by March 1, 2017. All presenting authors of an accepted special session proposal must register for the conference no later than March 15, 2017.
